A portrait of the deceased.

John 'Johnny' Appleseed

Born: January 1, 1950 – Passed: April 15, 2024

Biography

John Appleseed was a man of the earth, a lover of nature, and a friend to all. Born in the heart of the Western Cape, his life was a testament to the simple beauties of the world. He spent his days cultivating not just gardens, but also friendships that blossomed across the decades.

His laughter was as infectious as his passion for storytelling. He could captivate any audience with tales of his youth, his adventures in the Drakensberg mountains, and the quiet wisdom he found in the rustling leaves of a well-tended orchard. He believed that every seed held a promise, and he lived his life planting seeds of kindness, generosity, and joy wherever he went.

He is survived by a loving family and a community that was enriched by his presence. His legacy is not written in stone, but is carried on the wind, in the roots of the trees he planted, and in the hearts of everyone he touched.

John was a true inspiration. His garden was a reflection of his soul - vibrant, full of life, and a place of peace. I'll miss our chats over the fence. Rest easy, friend.
